Caught it a couple of nights ago on Great Performances (PBS). What a kick to see Eric playing and singing George's material. Billy Preston was also very good.

Re: Concert for George
Thu, December 9, 2004 - 11:12 PMMore facts:
Clapton played lead guitar on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"
Preston played keyboards on "Get Back"
George Harrison wrote "Badge" while having a snack at a table in Clapton's backyard and attempting to write a song for Cream. Harrison had scribbled a title for the work on a piece of paper while sitting across from Eric. . .who misread the upside down scribble and asked George if "Badge" was the working title. Actually, George had written "Bridge."
Harrison played the rolling guitar chords of D, C, and G which sound very Beatle-ish and help to set up Clapton for his solo.
Harrison assumed the name L'angelo Masteroni (or something very similar to that) to be credited anonymously in the liner notes.
"Let It Rain" was never performed by Cream. It is off Eric's first self titled solo album which has the Crickets singing background vocals along with Rita Coolidge (spelling?), Jim Gordon (later to become a Domino), Leon Russell on piano, and a bunch of other semi-well known musicians in the lineup.
The name of Clapton's dog of that period was "Sharp." Eric likes dogs.
Eric played the wah-wah guitar solo on Stephen Bishop's "Save It For a Rainy Day."
When Eric married Patti Boyd (the real "Layla" and George's wife of that period), he became stepfather to George's son, I think his name is "Danny," who also was on stage playing guitar for most of the Concert for George.
I could go on forever with this. . .but it's getting near bedtime.
Goodnight group.
