Re: Oh my God
Thu, October 13, 2005 - 5:20 PMI am SO ready for the DVD!!!! (The existence of that video suggests that one will be coming- besides, Eric's the kind of guy who would share the wealth with his starving ex-bandmates that way).

Thu, October 13, 2005 - 11:28 PMI just picked up the DVD the other day and, boy, is it amazing! What's also refreshing is how how laid back they are in their playing and how much their skills have matured; they aren't playing like three guys out to prove themselves, either to the world, themselves or to each other, they play like they enjoy each others presence. -

Re: Oh my God
Mon, November 14, 2005 - 2:48 AMYep, both the album and the DVD are breathtaking. Clapton and Baker actually are better than they were, and Jack's voice is as good. His bass playing, while extraordinary, is not as driving as I remember it being 37 years ago. Of course, he's the one with the most serious health problems in recent years, so that might explain it.
The only other major difference is that the leads are shorter. In some senses, they are as intense, and usually even more musical, but definitely shorter.
One interesting note -- they had never played Badge live until this year. You wouldn't have known it from listening. Unbelievably beautiful.
Worth the money. Would have been worth much more, if they had charged it.
